Kevin Weber

BIO

Kevin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School where he was elected into the prestigious Order of the Coif. After law school, Kevin worked for the law firm of Latham & Watkins in their Midtown Manhattan offices, where he was trained by some of the best lawyers in the world in the fields of complex commercial litigation and negotiation. Kevin founded the Law Office of Oprea & Weber in 2014 with his law partner, and spouse, Karen Oprea.  Kevin’s practice is focused on family law, including premarital and postmarital agreements, collaborative divorce, mediated divorce, divorces involving complex property division, child custody and child support enforcement actions, modification suits, and mediation of all types of family law issues. He also has significant experience with contract disputes, probate matters, civil and family appeals, and federal civil rights litigation.

Karen Oprea

BIO
Karen graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2012. Upon graduating from law school, Karen had an offer of employment from the Manhattan office of White & Case, LLP, a top-tier multinational law firm. However, she chose instead to spend the first part of her career fighting for the rights of indigent defendants at the Criminal Appeals Bureau of the New York Legal Aid Society. She founded the Law Office of Oprea & Weber in 2014 with her partner, and spouse, Kevin Weber. She has significant experience in federal civil rights litigation and appellate practice and has briefed a wide range of issues in federal and state courts, from civil rights and constitutional law to business disputes, family law, and statutory construction. She has argued before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the New York appellate courts, and the Texas Court of Appeals. Her practice is currently focused on estate planning and probate matters.
